Decorative patterns are used by designers for cabinets, store fixtures and displays, lighting fixtures, hutches, containers, electronics, and appliances. The ½” hex pattern is also used as a generic aftermarket part for ’66-‘68 Ford Mustangs.

Ornamental shapes and open areas (% of material removed) varies widely with the pattern. The hex pattern offers the greatest open area (79%), while slotted patterns are aesthetic and solve application specific needs (ie., fish hatcheries).
